This  1984 CBR400F Endurance is based on the CBR400F developed by introducing various know-how gained in various racing activities, such as half fairing to reduce rider fatigue, under cowl, and two-lamp halogen headlight (35W)./35W x 2) is newly equipped to make it a sport bike with a fearless image.

The engine is equipped with an air-cooled, 4-cycle, DOHC, 16-valve, in-line 4-cylinder engine that employs a rotation speed response type valve suspension mechanism (REV) that changes the number of operating valves according to the rotation speed. Furthermore, by adopting a resonance chamber with improved intake efficiency and an exhaust system with excellent exhaust efficiency, a high output of 58PS/12,300rpm and an excellent fuel of 40km per liter (60km/h constant running test value) Realizes economic efficiency.

The frame adopts a double cradle type of square cross-section pipe that pursues light weight and high rigidity by computer analysis. The suspension uses an air assist type for the front wheels and a prolink type for the rear wheels, and exhibits excellent road surface followability in combination with the brake torque response type anti-dive mechanism (TRAC) that alleviates changes in vehicle body posture during braking. The brakes are equipped with dual piston caliper-equipped flat discs on the front wheels as double and on the rear wheels as single, making it a full-featured equipment suitable for high-performance road sports bikes. As a result, Honda's 400cc class sports bikes have become more complete with 13 models and 17 types.
