The Honda CBX750, or RC17 is a Honda motorcycle sold primarily in Europe, South Africa and Australia. Manufactured from 1984 to 1988, the CBX750 was developed from the CB750, in parallel with the VF750, a wholly new design. This Honda CBX750F was developed with the aim of being a high-performance sports bike with consideration for improved handling and maintainability due to its compact and lightweight design. The engine is a newly developed DOHC, 16-valve, in-line 4-cylinder, 747cc engine that achieves high output of 77 horsepower and fuel economy of 36km/L (60km/h level driving test value), but does not require tappet clearance adjustment. A hydraulic valve clearance automatic adjustment mechanism, a forced air-cooled AC generator located at the rear of the engine that does not require brush replacement, a small hydraulic clutch that does not require wire stretch adjustment, and a power transmission mechanism that eliminates the primary shaft, etc. At the same time, we have achieved smaller size, lighter weight, improved maintainability, and improved economic efficiency.
For the body design, a lightweight, highly rigid double cradle type frame based on computer analysis, and front and rear suspensions that can be adjusted according to driving conditions are installed. In addition, the rear adopts a pro-link type that has excellent ride comfort and road surface followability. The brakes are triple disc brakes (2 in front and 1 in the rear), and are equipped with an anti-dive mechanism (TRAC) that controls posture changes during deceleration. In addition, it is easy to handle and safe, with dual headlights (2-light type: 45W/45W x 2) that ensure better visibility during nighttime driving, fairings that reduce fatigue and aerodynamic characteristics, and tubeless tires on the front and rear wheels. It is designed to improve.

The Honda CBX 750F (RC17) was the "Nanahan Sports" released in December 1983, following the CB750F series (1979-82). It was equipped with a half cowl that had just been approved the previous year, and had two headlights on its front. The engine was a new type with a wider bore and shorter stroke than the CB750F, and the actual displacement was an air-cooled in-line 4-cylinder DOHC 4-valve type with a displacement of 747cc. The feature of this engine was that it improved maintainability by adopting an automatic tappet clearance adjustment mechanism and a brushless AC generator (alternating current). In addition, while achieving an output of 77ps (7ps increase from the 1981 CB750F), it also had excellent fuel efficiency. The mechanism mounted on the CBX750F, which is not on the CB750F, is the back torque limiter. This prevents excessive engine braking that occurs when shifting down abruptly, contributing to improved vehicle stability. In 1985, the CBX750F Bol d'Or equipped with a full fairing was announced (separate section). The CBX750 Horizon, which appeared in 1984, could be said to be a shaft drive model of the CBX750F (separate section). The successor model is the CB750 (RC42) released in 1992.
